The extension operates locally in your browser. It does not transmit information to the developer or any other recipient. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, remote code or external service calls.
volume and
muted properties of those media elements — the values the website
itself set — in order to attenuate playback and to restore the website's own
volume. Where the audio can be routed through a Web Audio gain node, the
element's volume is left untouched and the attenuation is applied
to the audio signal instead. These values are kept in page memory only and are
discarded when the page unloads. They also report a single yes/no flag to the
extension's own service worker when media in that frame starts or stops trying
to play, so the popup can list the tab. That flag is only a boolean per frame
and never leaves the browser; it is cleared when the tab closes, when the page
navigates and when the browser restarts. The extension does not read or record
audio/video content, browsing history, form fields or page text.chrome.storage.local until
changed or the extension is uninstalled. It is not synced through
chrome.storage.sync.chrome.storage.session. They are removed when the tab closes and
cleared when the browser restarts or the extension is disabled, reloaded or
updated.tabs supplies tab titles and URLs for the popup. storage
saves volume preferences. HTTP/HTTPS content-script access lets the extension
adjust media elements automatically, including in supported embedded players.
The extension does not sell, share or transfer user information. You can change defaults and reset per-tab attenuation in the popup, restrict site access through Chrome, or uninstall the extension to remove its stored preferences. Restricting site access limits the pages where automatic volume control works.
